Continuing my recent video uploads to this blog is this one of a debate between Dr. John Christy of UAH and Dr. Gavin Schmidt of NASA GISS and RealClimate blog. This is an example of the debate on this issue that should have been had long before Copenhagen and is only now happening in the media because of Climategate.
Well worth a watch.
In addition is this one between Chris Horner, Stephen McIntyre and Michael Oppenheimer on CNN.

Climategate (The CRU Email scandal) Update
Due to the nature of the way this scandal has been unfolding I thought I would wait and see where things ended up before I made further posts on it. To that ends here is an update on where things are currently at:
First is this You Tube Video on the background of the scandal:
Then there was this: Mann to be investigated by Penn State University review. The Mann mentioned in this is of course Dr. Michael (hockey stick) Mann, who is also a member of RealClimate.
This was then followed by the term “Climategate” surpasses “Global Warming” on Google
The term Global Warming only attracts 10,100,00 results, where as the term Climategate as of 4/11/09 is currently at 29,500,000 results. That's nearly three times the number of results in just a couple of weeks compared to Global Warming that has been around as a term both on the internet and off for over 20 years.
The scandal went mainstream as this article from Christopher Booker of the U.K. Telegraph shows: Climate change: this is the worst scientific scandal of our generation and this report from the U.S. CBC Network:
Then there was the email from Phil Jones that made a mockery of their partner in warming NASA GISS.
Questions were then raised about the peer review process.
As organisations and Universities other than the Climate Research Unit of the University of East Anglia, were drawn into the scandal's widening reach.
Finally, Phil Jones steps down – pending an independent review Just how independent and how deeply probing this review will be remains to be seen, however, it's Chair has been picked.
Sir Muir commented: “Given the nature of the allegations it is right that someone who has no links to either the university or the climate science community looks at the evidence and makes recommendations based on what they find.
Dr. Michael Mann has seemingly started to panic and is distancing himself from Dr. Jones and those emails in an attempt to save his career.
Of course Lord Monckton has written a report for his site ,SPPI.
A YouTube video entitled "Hide the Decline" is released
This was later followed up by Hide the Decline II after Dr. Mann threatened to sue the makers of the original:
U.S. Senator James Inhofe Launches "Climategate" Investigation in the U.S. Senate.
UN Scientist Declares Climategate colleagues Mann, Jones and Rahmstorf 'should be barred from the IPCC process' -- They are 'not credible any more'
President Obama's Science Czar John Holdren is involved in the unwinding Climategate scandal.
According to a Researcher: NASA is also hiding data.
UN panel on climate change to investigate claims.
CRU looks to “big oil” for support
Met Office to re-examine 160 years of climate data as a result of Climategate.
Whilst not directly related to the C.R.U. of the U.E.A. there was also these local examples of interference in the scientific climate process:
New Zealand’s National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research who have links with CRU are making New Zealand seem warmer with their adjustments to their raw data, and finally
Dr. Clive Spash resigns from CSIRO after climate report 'censorship'

Dr. Phil Jones responds with a myriad of reasons for not sharing data also Dr. Jones, Professor Trevor Davies the University of East Anglia's Pro Vice Chancellor - Research and the Climate Research Unit (CRU) all issue statements trying to control the damage. Dr. Michael Mann issues his reply via video, as can be seen here. In all cases their only defence appears to be "the emails are being taken out of context". No effort is being made to seriously justify the content of the emails or the damning source code.U.S. Senator James Inhofe Launches "Climategate" Investigation in the U.S. Senate.

More Informational Videos
Recently I have posted a few videos that detail some information on the sceptical view of Climate Change. To that end here are a few more for you to view at your leisure that are informative about aspects that I have covered in some of my previous posts.
The first is on the missing Hotspot:
The second is again by Dr. David Evans on Why CO2 cannot be blamed for Global warming:
The third is by Dr. David Archibald explaining the link between Global Warming & Sunspots:
Finally, the fourth is a preview of a six part series on the mysteries of clouds and their relationship with Climate Change with Professor Henrick Svensmark:
This last one is an excellent companion to the recent paper by Dr. Richard Lindzen and Dr. Yong-Sang Choi, on the determination of climate feedbacks from ERBE data. A paper that shows that satellite-observed radiation loss by the Earth increased dramatically with warming, this was in stark contrast to all of the computerised climate models they examined which did just the opposite. The models said the atmosphere was trapping more radiation with warming rather than releasing more.
The implication of their results was clear: most if not all climate models that predict global warming are far too sensitive, and thus produce far too much warming and associated climate change in response to humanity’s carbon dioxide emissions.

The Global Warming Swindle Movie
If you haven't seen it for a while or indeed have never seen it here again is Martin Durkin's Global Warming Swindle. It is well worth a watch again and contains a good cross section of information that is quite pertinent given the recent problems at CRU.

Dr. Richard Lindzen Discusses Climate Change
I came across this six part series via ICECAP of a lecture given by notable Climatologist, Dr. Richard Lindzen. In it he discusses many of the current issues of climate change and the hype and misinformation that surrounds it. For anyone wanting to learn from one of the best minds in the field it is well worth a watch. I have since discovered that access to the six part series was removed from You Tube for some reason and I wasn't able to relocate all six parts the reinsert. I was however, able to locate a singular version that runs for approximately 52 minutes. Whilst long it is still very much worth a view if you wish to gain a clearer understanding of climate change.
